Soprano Hagar Sara Adam is a native of Jerusalem, Israel-Palestine. She has recently moved to Los Angeles, CA, after graduating from Binghamton University in New York with a Masters degree in Opera Performance, in collaboration with Tri-Cities Opera.
In the season of 2021-2022, Hagar performed the role of Pamina in Mozart’s ‘Die Zauberflöte’ and the role Monkey Queen in ‘Monkey and Francine’ by Sankaram with Binghamton University, the role of Sally in Illick’s ‘Stone Soup’ with Tri-Cities Opera, performed with the University's Symphony Orchestra after winning the Concerto Competition, sang in a donors gala concert with the orchestra, covered the role of Clorinda in Rossini’s ‘La Cenerentola’ with Tri-Cities Opera in collaboration with Syracuse Opera, and had a Graduate Recital in the theme of nature in collaboration with Julius Abrahams.
Past engagements include Adina in L’elisir d’amore with Tri-Cities Opera, Arminda in Mozart’s ‘La Finta Giardiniera’ in a digital production of Binghamton University, Suor Dolcina and Suor Genovieffa in Puccini’s ‘Suor Angelica’ in Tel-Aviv Summer Opera program, Noémie in Massanet’s ‘Cendrillon’ with Harvard Opera Company, Zerlina in Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni’, and Anne Truelove in ‘The Rake’s Progress’ by Stravinsky in scenes at The Boston Conservatory. Due to the pandemic, performing the role of Barbarina in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and covering the role of Susanna with Tri-Cities Opera and performing the role of Pamina with Manhattan Opera Studio were canceled.
Concert experience include performing the soprano solos in Bach’s ‘Magnificat’ with Keene Chorale and Orchestra, Pergolesi’s ‘Stabat Mater’ with Boston Conservatory’s orchestra, Mozart’s ‘Coronation Mass’ and Britten’s ‘Rejoice in the Lamb’ with Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra.
Operatic Chorus experience includes Gounod’s ‘La Reine de Saba’ and Tchaikovsky’s ‘The Maid of Orleans’ with Odyssey Opera, Heggie’s ‘Dead Man Walking’ and Poulenc’s ‘Les Dialogues des Carmélites’ with Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Non-Classical music experience include singing numerous parts in the chorus for the Academy Award winning film Legend of Destruction, directed by Gidi Dar and composed by Assaf Talmudi and Yonatan Albalak (Israeli Film Academy award winner for Best Music, Best Sound and more), and singing vocal parts in students’ films at Berklee College of Music and Emerson College. Hagar also produced and sang in numerous projects as a lead singer, background singer and a chorus member, including Joy Shechter’s EP (to be released soon), numerous of Shelbie Rassler’s projects, including the viral video ‘What the World Needs Now’, and more.
Hagar holds a Bachelor in Music in Voice Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. In Boston, she performed at school as well as collaborated with outside companies, such as Harvard Opera Company, Odyssey Opera, the Italian Consulate, Keene Chorale and Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra.
Hagar began her musical education at the Jerusalem Conservatory of Music and Dance with piano studies, and continued her education at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance High School (six-year program), where she majored in Classical Voice Performance, Jazz Vocal Performance and Classical Piano Performance. She performed with the major working orchestras in Israel, including The Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and The Israeli Symphonic Orchestra as well as on major stages, such as The Israeli Opera house, The Charles Bronfman Auditorium, The Jerusalem Theater and more.
Alongside her musical activities, Hagar actively advocates for human, animal and environmental justice.
